Light, yet bottom-heavy, vintage putter from one of golf’s great European champions and its first International star, Harry Vardon. This spare beauty saw critical play in the years of 1896, 1898, 1899, and 1903, when Vardon won his first four of six British Opens. To think that this (at-first-glance) spry twig of understated grace could win the rugged British Open, it is an honor to be in its presence, especially more than one hundred years later. Measures 36 ½”, and is in excellent condition. The head shows brilliant use, and is styled with historical and ornate engravings. A historical and aesthetic symbol of golf elegance. Carries all period marks of the manufacturer. A true cornerstone piece of golf history. Comes with detailed letter of provenance from the present owner.
