Through the years, every franchise has had its share of superstar players that stand out above the rest. They are the ones that bring the fans out to the ballpark and only one game brings them all together at once, The All-Star Game. When the Midsummer Classic debuted on July 6, 1933, at Chicago’s Comiskey Park, it was done so at the insistence of Arch Ward, a sports editor for the Chicago Tribune, to coincide with the celebration of the city’s “Century of Progress” Exposition. Little did he know that seven decades later it would be the most popular event in all of baseball, still. Taking the field that day, was possibly the finest collection of talent ever assembled. Ruth, Gehrig, Dickey, Grove, Simmons, Lazzeri, Gehringer, Rommel, West, Averill, Dykes, Gomez, Foxx, R. Ferrell, Crowder, Cronin, Chapman, W. Ferrell, Hilderand, and owners Thomas Shibe and Clark Griffith all participated and all are present, now again, on the surface of this Official National League baseball. Their blue fountain pen signatures, protected by a thin layer of shellac, display overall as 8/10 with Lou Gehrig (9+) and Babe Ruth (8) and the ball is EX. There's nothing like the original!
