From the moment he arrived at camp his rookie season John Hannah changed the way the guard position was played and viewed. His other-worldly abilities earned him a string of ten consecutive All-Pro selections ('76-85') and nine trips to the Pro-Bowl. Eventually he made his final stop in Canton as the first New England Patriot of All-Time to be welcomed into the Hall of Fame. Offered is the red "home" jersey he wore during the October 22nd, 1978 game against the Miami Dolphins (as well as other home games from the use on it !!!). The finest example we have ever seen, it displays wear only a player or true fan can appreciate. Massive team repairs can be found on the inside of both shoulders, the result of ferocious battling at the line. So severe were these wounds that entire pieces of additional fabric had to be resewn onto those areas for reinforcement. On the front back and sleeves his number "73" is screened in white and blue, across the shoulders is "Hannah" in white. A hand warmer was added to the front to shield his hands from the biting winds of winter in the Northeast. Dual tagging on the tail reads, "Designed & Tailored for the New England Patriots by Sand-Knit" and size "XXLarge (50-52)". Until now this specimen has been on display at The New England Sports Museum and rightfully so. Its provenance, history, and use make it one of the most extraordinary game used football pieces to be offered in recent years. Photo matched.
