The Philadelphia Athletics were looking for their third straight World Series victory in 1931, and for the second year in a row they found themselves matched up against the St. Louis Cardinals. It went to a Game 7. This time, St. Louis prevailed by a score of 4-2. Three Spalding Official NL baseballs from that great seven game series signed by all of the big names at a reunion years later. One of the balls reads on a panel, “1930 Cardinals". Another reads, “1931 World Champs Cardinals". Third ball reads, “1931 World Champions St. Louis Cardinals".
