In 1945, the Yankees were sold by the Ruppert estate to Larry MacPhail, Dan Topping and Del Webb for $2.8 million. In 1947, MacPhail resigned as Yankees general manager and his two partners bought him out. In 1966, Dan Topping sold his portion off and resigned. Deceased former owner of the New York Yankees is very tough on a ball, and even tougher as a single, which this is. Formerly of the Jim Armstrong collection, Armstrong wrote on a side panel "Dan Topping Gen Mgr Yanks 1966." Topping signed the sweet spot in 10/10 ink. Unofficial ball is evenly toned from shellac. EX. Hall of Fame potential.
