In 1984, Rose signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Expos, but the Reds wanted him to come back home, so they traded infielder Tom Lawless to Montreal for him. Rose was immediately named player-manager, replacing Vern Rapp. This is Rose's official contract that he signed when he came back to the Reds. The contract is for a whopping $1.00. The Expos were already paying Rose's salary through the end of 1984, so the Reds just paid the Expos the remainder of his contract, and added a dollar for his managerial duties. Signed by Rose, Bob Howson, and Charles Feeney. Signatures are 8/10. Contract is NRMT.
