The Hall of Fame member Judy Johnson was obviously a great ballplayer, but what his contemporaries admired most about him was his coolness under pressure and his understanding of all situations he confronted. Nothing ever could take his focus away from the job at hand. Handwritten and signed (9/10) letter in blue ink by this Negro League legend. Great content in the letter, with "You know records are made to be broken, so sooner or later some one would along to break Ruth's record, so it was good for Aaron to happen along at that time to break his (Babe's) record. some one sooner or later that record also will break Aaron's record to (sic)...Judy Johnson". It is matted along with a Dick Perez drawn card of Johnson.
