Clemente was one of those players whose photos while at the plate would be recognizable with just a silhouette of the scene. He always looked like a coiled spring ready to explode. This is a fantastic photo that was one of only a handful that were signed the day after Clemente got his 3000th hit; his very last in regular season play. This photo, along with two others, were taken and developed on the day he got the hit. The next day, Bob Prince of the Pirates took these photos back to the Pirates clubhouse and had Clemente sign them. Signature is in black marker and is MINT and reads, "Best Wishes Roberto Clemente." Clemente is captured in black and white at the plate just before he struck the ball for the hit. 8 x 10" photo is framed and matted (13-5/8 x 16-3/4") and is NRMT. LOA.
