Marine pride is quite evident in this piece of original Uncle Sam artwork and the matching card. Part of the series of picture cards showing Uncle Sam’s military team in training for National Defense, this is the original 7 1/2 x 9” (approx) artboard consisting of the black ink drawing as well as the color overlay on tracing paper showing a marine pitching a hand grenade in training. A pencil hand-written caption is at the bottom along with the artwork and adhesive marks that were part of the production process. The NRMT Uncle Sam card measures 2 1/2 x 3”.
