There’s not a hockey fan or collector over the age of ten that is not familiar with this timeless photograph. An original wire photo from May 10, 1970 at the Boston Garden when Bobby Orr scored one of the most famous goals in NHL history, giving the Boston Bruins their first Stanley Cup since 1941. Black and white photo taken from the corner, just as The Golden Boy was tripped up by Noel Picard after slipping the game winner past Glenn Hall. Elation on the faces of both Orr and teammate Wayne Carleton is very evident. Image has UPI stamp on reverse, with notation written in red pen: “Bobby Orr whoops it up after scoring winning goal in overtime period. 5/10/70”. Very minor wear, but sports a truly
Near Mint appearance.
