Talk about a great catch! The Yankees’ fan name was Joe Forner. He caught Babe Ruth’s 60th home run baseball. Not only that, he rushed to the Yankees’ dugout and got the “Babe” to autograph the ball. Then he went to the office of Truly Warner, whose claim to fame was that he one of America’s most enthusiastic baseball fans. Truly collected the autograph ball from Joe and gave him $100 for it. Wow! What a deal! This NRMT photograph captures the historic moment showing the sale on October 3rd, 1927. Measures (approx) 81/2” x 10”. No collection of Babe memorabilia is complete without this rare photo which, on the back, even includes a wonderful typewritten caption that tells you the story of this great moment in baseball history.
