Beautifully multi-matted and framed, this original colorized cartoon art for Chicago Today by Wayne Stayskal features the caption: “ICE!?...HOW EXTRAORDINARY, MR. HULL,...I MADE MY PILE IN OIL!” as the well-heeled old boys sit around the men’s club reading the financial pages and being waited on, while Hull, in a Blackhawks uniform and skates reads the sports pages. It is a parody on the “Golden Jet” jumping ship from the NHL and signing for a million dollars as the poster boy for the then new WHA. Great stuff which led to the NHL taking the new league very seriously. Art measures 9 x11” with overall piece measuring 18 x20”.
