A great outside the park photograph, taken during the 1913 World Series at Shibe Park by noted early photojournalist George Grantham Bain. The Athletics defeated the NY Giants in 5 games, and the lines to get in were running around the block. Lots of period detail, such as a horsedrawn cart, policemen and vendors selling pennants, and this extremely sharp glass-negative print permits the closest examination. Black & white, 5” x 7”. Culver Pictures stamp on reverse, as well as collection deaccesion stamp. The upper left corner has an inscription “Shibe Park”. The photograph is mounted on original board. Condition is EX+, with one chipped corner.
