In 1965 The Animals were in their heyday. With songs like Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood and The House of the Rising Sun, The Animals were major players in the seismic shift music underwent in the early to mid sixties. The City Auditorium in Colorado Springs was completed in 1923 and represented a local example of publicly owned Classical Revival architecture in Colorado Springs. Inside, over the arch, is the Latin phrase “Usui Civium Decori Urbis,” which translated means “For the Use of the People and the Glory of the City.” On April 1, 1966 The Animals played the City Auditorium and it’s a good bet that they rocked the place with the diminutive in stature but booming in voice Eric Burdon. Two color poster is 10-1/8 X 16-1/4.” Condition is NRMT.
