The AFL was born in 1960 and the Boston Patriots were a charter member along with seven other teams. They were owned by Billy Sullivan Jr., a local businessman and played their games at Nickerson Field in Boston, now a part of Boston University. In their inaugural season they went 5-9, finishing last in the four team Eastern Division. This outstanding lot includes two passes from the first ever AFL regular season game that took place on September 9th against the Denver Broncos. 21,597 people witnessed them go down to defeat, 13-10. The following week they captured their first win in New York against the Titans. There are also passes from a preseason tilt on August 14, 1960 against the Dallas Texans and many others through the years.
