Check out this B&W photo of a young Jackie Robinson in his Dodgers uniform, intently bunting the ball. From the Culver archives, this photo (8 x 10”) is in great condition and was taken in 1947, his debut year. Aside from the great shot, there’s all the other reasons the subject of this photo stands out - Robinson was the first black man to play in the majors in the 20th century and to win the MVP award. He was also the first black man to be elected into the Hall of Fame, to be Rookie of the Year and was the first player ever to be on a postage stamp. The back of the photo verifies its origins from the Culver archives.
