Here’s a truly original item we haven’t seen before! A Christmas card from Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus Raymond Cobb to Miss Helene Champlain, who was rumored Cobb’s mistress. The 6 1/2” x 4” near mint card has a winter lake sunset illustration and is printed on dark antiqued parchment with the message, “Heartiest greetings and best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus Raymond Cobb”. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 1927, when Cobb was playing Major League baseball. The envelope is handwritten with Helene Champlain’s address at the “Book Dept - Macy & Co.” in New York.
