Broadway Blueshirt buffs, this one’s for you. Actually, these seven are for you. They’re original vintage team shots of the still-young Rangers (and one of their Madison Square Garden rivals and co-tenants, the New York Americans). Includes 6 wire service photos from 1) Nov. 9, 1931, 2) three (including a 5-player posed shot) from Nov. 17, 1933 as they began defense of their 2nd Stanley Cup title, 3) a locker room shot from Jan. 12, 1940 after their NHL record-tying 18th straight victory -- en route to their last Stanley Cup until 1994 - and 4) Americans team photo from Nov. 18, 1940. Also an undated sepia-toned Rangers studio portrait from the ‘30s with the players’ names handwritten on the back. Names and faces dear to Ranger fans’ hearts live again - Hextall, Patrick, Cook, Boucher, Watson, Murdock, Siebert - in these photos, which average VG, some better and show varying degrees of wear (but not tear). Most approx. 7 x 9”, with one 8 x 10”.
