Springsteen, who closed some shows on his last tour with “Quarter to Three”, made the song a concert staple in the ‘70s, reviving the dormant career of Gary U.S. Bonds, who originally sung the ditty in 1961. He subsequently produced Bonds’ “Dedication” and “On the Line” LPs. This rare sheet has Bruce’s handwritten lyrics to “Quarter to Three” for pre-concert memorization -- with a few changes from the original, as rock purists will note, such as “Blow daddy” becoming “Go daddy”. The lyrics are handwritten in blue pen on the sheet, which is torn from a loose-leaf binder and is in MT condition. We defy you not to sing along with these lyrics.
