An amazing collection of Pro-Basketball Wire photos spanning 1950's -1990's. Over 200 photos are included capturing the world of professional basketball both on and off the field. On the court, there's Michael Jordan driving to the basket against Bill Cartwright in 1986; Isiah Thomas splitting the D in 1985; Bird chasing a rebound in Game 5 1987 playoff win vs. Chicago; HOFer Moses Malone sky- hooking in 1986; Gail Goodrich tenaciously stealing the ball from Earl Monroe in the 1972 NBA Championship Series; McHale riping a rebound in '85; Goodrich beating Clifford Ray in 1972 playoffs and there's even a shot of Spencer Haywood dunking in the 1968 Olympics. Off the court we get rare glimpses of the NBA with shots including Tom Gola peeling potatoes as a member of the Army reserves in 1958; Tommy Heinsohn painting in 1973; Bill Russell dirt bike riding in 1972; the 1973 coin flip to determine the 1st team selection for the NBA Draft; 1970's Collective Bargaining Pact Meeting featuring both NBA and Players Association reps; 1964 meeting between Heinsohn and Celtics owner Walter Brown discussing possible boycott of All-Star Game Walt Hazzard accepting College Player of The Year Award; Nate Thurmond during his 1970 retirement announcement and Artis Gilmore in college photo for story announcing his signing with the ABA Kentucky Colonels. The collection provides a real view of life on and off the court in the NBA. Most are wire photo (several may show sizing pencil marks), however, there may be a few promo photos and a few college themed wire-photos included. Wire-photos include photo captions and most contain wire service stamps on verso.
