This shimmering gem from the Yankee mineshaft of history boasts signatures of some pinstriped gods. From 1937, which was a virtual reply of '36 when the Pinstripers stormed through the AL then destroyed the crosstown Giants in the World Series. The post-Ruth mantle of leadership fell on Lou Gehrig and the young Joe DiMaggio, who came through with typically brilliant seasons, hitting .351 and .446, respectively. It was also Joe D's high-water mark for homers, with 46. Gehrig is on a side panel an inch or so from the sweet-spot marker of manager Joe McCarthy, whose autograph is the best, a 7/10 compared with the Iron Horse's somewhat faded 6. Joe D's, also on a side panel, grades a faded 5/10. Approx. 22 signatures in all -- McCarthy appears to have signed twice -- with about half discernible, including other HOFers Rolfe, Ruffing & Tony Lazzeri, as well as Selkirk, Pearson, Hoag, Hadley, etc. Also the Giants' Jimmie Ripple. PSA-certified ball G-VG with stampings rubbed off and a nice gold tone with some dirt spots. COA.
