Elander Victor Harris has two different cards in the 1949 Toleteros set. We gladly offer the winner of this auction both variations. The black background portrait card is graded SGC 60 EX 5. The card appears nicer; unfortunately there is the smallest bit of missing stock to the lower right corner. The outdoors portrait is ungraded because it suffers from some stock damage to the reverse. Approximately 25% of the stock is missing on the reverse of the card; this is most likely because it was adhered to an album at some point. On a positive note, the front of the card presents EX-MT. Harris spent nearly his entire career (23 years) as a player and a manager with the Homestead Grays. As a player he finished with a respectable .299 lifetime batting average and appeared in six East-West All-Star games. As a manager he led his team to five straight pennants in the late 1930's and early 1940's. This two-card lot represents one of the only variations of a significant Negro Leaguer in the Toleteros set.
