The 1912 T227 "Series of Champions" card set issued by Honest Long Cut and Miners Extra tobacco brands features 4 baseball Hall of Famers among its 25 famous of the day. As one might expect the Cobb card is the most expensive and desirable card in this extremely tough to find issue. The cards were inserted into pouches of loose tobacco which often resulted in staining and other damage. This example presents very well, as there is corner wear consistent with the card's age; it is well centered and has nice coloring to the background. There is a small crease on the top of the reverse running through Cobb's middle name. The crease passes through to the other side ever so slightly but is hardly noticeable on the front. On a positive note this card is completely free of any tobacco staining. A nice addition to any Cobb or advanced collection.
