The Apollo space program, which lasted from 1963 to 1972, was designed to land humans on the Moon and bring them safely back to Earth. The historic program provided us with a wealth of scientific data and nearly 400 kilograms of lunar samples. Presented is a collection of photographs signed by crew members from two of the seventeen Apollo missions. Included is a rare color 10 x 8" NASA photo of the prime crew of Apollo 13 (the first aborted Apollo mission) signed in blue felt tip by Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Ken Mattingly (Mattingly was replaced only days before liftoff by Jack Swiggert and played a key role at mission control in getting the astronauts back to Earth safely), a superb glossy 10 x 8" photo of the badly damaged Apollo 13 service module signed in vintage black felt tip marker by all three crew members: James Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert, an April 27, 1970 Newsweek magazine cover signed by the full Apollo 13 crew: Jack Swigert, James Lovell, and Fred Haise (inscribed "To Donald") in vintage blue and black ballpoint / felt tip marker, and a 10 x 8" (mounted to 14 x 11") NASA color photograph of the Earth, as viewed from Space, signed by the full crew of Apollo 17 (the final Apollo mission): Gene Cernan, Ron Evans and Harrison Schmitt on the mount in black felt tip marker. The offered images rate Near Mint (NM) or better, with the exception of the Newsweek cover which rates VG-EX. All of the signatures display nicely and grade at least Near Mint to Mint (NM-MT).
