Ah, the memories. This licorice red coin-operated baseball card machine was a staple in Brooklyn, where kids perfected the candy store ritual of an egg cream and a couple of pennies into a machine just like this to grab a card and a gumball. These now-rare coin-op, single card-dispensers are a big favorite of collectors, and this one looks like it never left the corner store. Just the Don Zimmer card to the right of the window, along with those of '55 Dodger teammates Sandy Amoros, Johnny Podres and Karl Spooner, is enough to get a rise. "Premiere Ball Gum and Card" machine is EX+ and operational, with gumballs stored in the center window, though how edible we can't say. Lock and key intact. 12 1/2 wide, 13" high, 5 1/2" deep, almost no paint loss, shiny metal center turn handle and change return tray with "Thank you" -- something Brooklynites still say to those '55 Bums.
