Topps released its first and only pin set in 1956, and the value keeps climbing on this overlooked yet still beautiful issue. They're scarce, gorgeous and encapsulate a glorious era in baseball. Mays, Aaron, Williams and Berra are among the luminaries whose baseball card images were placed on pins 1 3/15 inches in diameter. Neither color nor personality is lost in the transposing. Fifty-five of the original collection are arranged in alphabetical order on a framed white cotton candy sheet. Among the five missing are Phil Rizzuto, Jackie Robinson, Hector Lopez and Duke Snider. The remaining are very high end, mostly NM to NRMT/MT, with some pristine beauties included for good measure.
