Pro basketball's original dynasty featured some natty warmup attire, as shown by this letterman-style Minneapols Lakers jacket from the late 1940s and early 1950s. Thick black wool with stiched gold "M" on the front and "Lakers" on the back looks just woven. Elastic collar fraying a tad but elastic on waist and wrists are unruffled. Snap buttons still shine. The label is ripped out, leaving its original owner a mystery. It's a bit small to have been worn by the 6-foot-10 George Mikan, but could have been the property of the playmaking guard Slater Martin. No matter which Laker used this during their run of six titles in seven years, it's a championship-caliber keeper.
