Jack Johnson was the first black to win the Heavyweight Boxing Championship. Born in Galveston Texas in 1878 , Johnson went on to knockout Jim Jeffries in Las Vegas in 1910 to win the title. He relinquished the title in 1915 in a loss to Jess Willard. He then spent time in jail and came to box in exhibitions in the twenties. He was killed in an automobile accident in 1946. This rare black and white photo postcard is in excellent condition and shows Jack in the early 1920s. Scarce boxing piece wth great history.
