Unbelievably rare 1957 shot of a very young and very dapper Juan Marichal beside San Francisco Giants scout Horacio Martinez and two other Dominicans, moments after Martinez signed him to a big-league contract. Just out of the Dominican Air Force, the 19-year-old already had pinpoint control, a blinding fastball and a variety of motions. When he debuted with the Giants on July 19, 1960, he shut out the Phillies on one hit. The sepia toned photo is drizzled with a few spots but o/w EX.
