Sample medal crafted for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Summer Games is identical to those presented to gold medal winners except for the small "Sample" stamped into both sides and the wood and lucite case that houses it. This one comes complete with the oak lid and black leatherette carrying case. Ancient sporting images adorn each side in an adaptation of an original design by Florentine artist Giuseppe Cassioli, crafted for the 1928 Games in Amsterdam. Large plate affixed to the lid reads, in part: "The Gold, created by Jostens for the LAOOC and the XXIIIrd Olympiad Games, 1984". A gorgeous display piece sure to bolster any Olympic collection.
