He shocked the football world when he decided to join the WFL after playing for the Dolphins. The trusty Riddell helmet which protected the head of Hall of Famer, Larry Csonka back in 1975, while playing for the Memphis Grizzlies. Helmet is completely intact with all original padding, chin strap, and facemask. Either side with decaled Grizzlies logo and inside the helmet, above the right earhole is handwritten in black marker, Csonka. Shows great use and wear. Comes with copy of the original LOA explaining provenance. This was originally purchased from the Grizzlies' team purchaser, of Mr. Smitty's Auction in San Antonio, Texas along with the WFL jersey also offered in this auction.
