Ruth signature on a 1941 check is one of the nicest we've seen. The check also answers the question of what it may have cost to insure a life as priceless as his -- apparently $305.50 a month, the amount he sent to N.Y. Life Insurance Co. Remarkably clear and vibrant "G.H. Ruth" is written in blue fountain pen. Chemical Bank check is NRMT as well, mounted under a great 11 x 13" photo of Ruth sending one into the deep blue yonder, his bat on the follow-through pointing up ramrod straight. Both mounted in a nicely detailed frame.
