The 1969 Topps White Letter Variation Set is a tough one to complete. Incredibly the best card highlights this one, #500 Mickey Mantle, which is perfectly centered with sharp corners and is graded PSA 8 NM-MT. Mantle has a fresh look to it and appears more like NM-MT+ to Mint. There have been just six Mantle White Letters graded higher by PSA. Nine of the other cards have been graded by SGC: #440 McCovey “84, 444 “86, 461 Epstein “84, 464 “86, 473 “86, 485 Perry “84, 486 “84, 491 “84, and 501 “86. The thirteen ungraded cards include #441, 447 Houk, 451, 452, 454, 468, 470 Stottlemyre, 471, 476, 482, 493, 505, and 511. The ungraded examples average EX-MT to NRMT. Set is complete at 23 cards.
