Writing tablet dating to 1831 and featuring an engraving of kids playing baseball, shooting marbles and spinning tops. This writing book measures approximately 6 1/2 x 8" and was published by Oxford. It states "Good Penmanship is the neatest accomplishment of the Scholar" and belonged to John LaGrange, Jr. who signed the front cover and recorded his business dealings inside. This light brown book has an ornate disign on the outer portion of the front cover and is in remarkable condition for a 173 year old writing book. Overall condition EX-MT.
