A great photo of a great player deserves a great signature, and Ty Cobb's marker on this photo embodying the maestro of hitting's intense glare and swaggering smirk is just such a cherry atop the sundae. Cobb, whose career average of .366 over 24 seasons looks too good to be anything but a typo, wrote in blue pen, "To the Sawaya From Ty Cobb" against the white of his Philadelphia Athletics uniform shirt (Cobb played the final two seasons with Connie Mack's team, hitting .323 in 1928 at age 42). Signature is NRMT. The 8x10" photo has tear damage at the extreme lower right corner and a few scattered dings along the borders but is o/w EX and a real keeper.
