Known as "The Rock" the maximum-security prison held some of the nations most infamous criminals -- Robert "Bird Man" Stroud, Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelly, "Doc" Barker. The prison stood for 29 years (1934-1963) without any successful escapes. When it was shut down in 1963 a unique item was kept and has now surfaced -- the original wood-framed plaque with the rules and regulations for prison guards. It is indeed a rare item as it is one of the only pieces of Alcatraz that remains. 10x15" frame with holes where nails kept it hanging on the wall. Signatures of Warden J.A. Johnston and Associate Warden E.J. Miller grade 8/10. There's no escaping the value of this historical memorabila.
