Old style flapless helmet has the original San Francisco Giants “SF” logo in front in superior orange on black. American Baseball Cap size 7 sticker on the inside tells the tale as does the equipment man’s matching “7” in black marker inside as well. Best of all is the orange and black “Mays” on orange and black Letraset tape. This was how all the Giants helmets were done and this well-worn tape perfectly matches the few other existing specimens from more Clark Kent type ballplayers who are more likely to be seen versus the Willie Mays “Superman.” Helmet has a large crack on the right side where Mays obviously flung it in a fit of passion.
