16 black maker signatures on this Wilson Official Jet ball include Bill Russell, K.C. Jones, Gerald Tucker (“Coach”), Bill Evans, Bill Houghland, Bruce Drake (“Asst, Coach’”), Wally Bock (“Trainer”), Carl Cain, James Coogan (“Mgr.), Chuck Darling, Ron Tomsic, Gil Ford, Jim Walsh, Burdette Haldorson, Robert Jeangerard, and Dick Boushka. Display wise this is marvelous as the Bill Russell signature is right underneath the “Game” inscription, “U.S.A. Olympic Champs 1956.” This ball includes LOA from the family that had it since 1956 where they obtained it in Melbourne, Australia, site of the 1956 Summer Olympics. The 1998 LOA from the son of Head Coach Gerald Tucker refers to this important relic simply as, “It is the game ball.” He is in fact refereeing to the final ball from the Olympic winning Gold Medal game. The first ever undefeated Olympic basketball team, the 1956 Olympians led by a young Bill Russell and KC Jones won their games by an average margin of 53.6 points a game. This ball represents the beginning of United States dominance in both the Olympic amateurs and in the world professionals. Overall EX-MT.
