Amazing one-page (two sides) handwritten letter from Ted Williams, written on U.S. Navy Pre-Flight School stationary is dated June 14, 1943 and addressed, “My dear June.” Written as a Navy Cadet after he enlisted as a Navy aviator, it contains great content with regards to Ted William’s feelings about the war and, of course, baseball: “Have been down here now for 6 weeks and wish it was my last… this is the worst hole I ever got in - you have got one spare minute to yourself except possibly on Sat nite and Sunday afternoon and then we’re usually playing [base]ball here or away (I really wish I wasn’t playing ball down here as it takes all your spare time what little you have. And also I might add I’m having an awful time hitting these pitchers I’ve faced. I hit all the balls on the end of the bat and hit little grounders to first base. NO kidding, I’ve been the out man so far.” Signed, “As ever, Ted.” Ink grades 9-10 out of a possible 10. With original mailing envelope, filled out in Williams’ hand, including, “Av.
