From the archives of the largest producers of children’s premiums of the era, Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with their LOA. Original art for a group of Wheaties cereal premiums that likely never went into production. Check out this “Wheaties Big League Sun Visor” & umpire’s scorer with an amazing advertising poster to top it off. 2) Attractive 12x9” original artwork was meant to be the back of a Wheaties cereal box. The baseball sun visor prominently shows Rogers Hornsby, Gabby Hartnett, Woody English, Arky Vaughan & Bill Terry and was meant to be cut out. On the same piece is an elaborate umpire’s ball & strike indicator. Graphics are wonderful, colors are vibrant, including throngs of fans watching this all unfold. 2-3) They also produced the art for the same sun visor (9”) and umpire’s scorer (2.5”) as if the had been cut out. 4) Stunning in-store Wheaties 21x15” advertising poster is reminiscent of the movie posters of the 1930s. A little boy is wearing the sun visor boasting these great Cubs, Giants and Dodger stars, while he scores with the umpire’s indicator. Bottom right is the Wheaties “Breakfast of Champions” box art. These are gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pieces. All are in gouache-on-board, except for the poster, which is in colored pencils. EX.
