The element that defined the playing career of Billy the Kid. Lovely 4x5” negative shows Billy on September 10, 1955 being presented the Babe Ruth Award as Most Valuable Player in the 1953 World Series. On to make the presentation at Yankee Stadium is Mrs. Babe Ruth, Babe Ruth’s grandson and Joe Trimble, President of the BBWA. Billy Martin was Clark Kent type during the regular season and would become Superman during the post season. During the 1953 World Series he would bat a staggering .500 and make the game-winning hit to take the series from the Dodgers.
