Considered by many the greatest race horse of all time, Secretariat truly set the standard when on June 9, 1973, with the Kentucky Derby and Preakness in hand, he proceeded to win the Belmont Stakes by an unheard of 31 lengths, securing the Holy Grail of Racing, the Triple Crown. During all three of his Triple Crown races that year, the offered bit and bridle was worn by Secretariat. This incredible relic originated in the Sotheby's sale of Property from the Collection of Meadow Stables and Penny Chenery, owner of Secretariat, and is accompanied by a LOA from Sothebys. Excellent condition.
