The ink, graded 8/10, is dark though does display breaks in the "J" and "W". Twenty-four players have signed Frederick G. Lieb's, The Pittsburgh Pirates (EX) in blue ink including: Wagner (steel ballpoint), Walker, Gustine, Rojek, Meyer, Kiner, Chesnes, Bonham, and many others from the 1948 squad. Overall the ink grades as 8/10.
