A great typed, signed letter from Richard Nixon signed, “Dick Nixon” in black ink. Letter with regards to losing the closest election in history (1960), which spawned JFK’s Camelot years at the White House. Signature grades “9” out of a possible 10. 7x9” letter addressed to “Mr. And Mrs. Blouin” is typed on “Office of the Vice President” letterhead. Dated January 19, 1961 it contains important content with regards to Nixon responding to a letter received from the Blouins of Old Joy Farm in South Berwick, Maine. It reads in part: “…nothing could have meant more to us than to receive such a warm and thoughtful message after losing. In the years ahead as we look back to 1960, the disappointment of losing the closest election in history will fade into the background…” Letter with original mailing fold, otherwise Near Mint. Display with black & white photo of Nixon is double matted and framed to 14x16”.
