One of the most prestigious awards in baseball is the Babe Ruth Crown. Presented to formidable Cleveland Indians slugger Albert Belle after he led the league in home runs in 1995, this majestic trophy is an actual golden crown that makes a unique and beautiful display piece, which can also be worn on the head. Front plate reads, “Babe Ruth Crown presented to Albert Belle for Outstanding Batting Achievement 1995, Maryland Professional Baseball Association” in raised and engraved lettering. Beautiful engraved design adorns all sides of the crown as well as additional engraved stats and inscriptions: (on the back) “B.A. .317, home runs 50 - runs 121, doubles 51 - triples 1”; (on the sides) “Sporting News All Star Team, A.P. All Star Team” and “1995 All Star Game”. Each point on the top of the crown is adorned with a different colored stone. Inside is lined with white satin and the top is a soft burgundy velvet. EX-MT condition.
