Offered is a complete Brooklyn Dodgers uniform worn by the acrobatic and astonishing Billy Cox. An institution at third from the time he arrived in 1948 Cox is regarded as one of the greatest fielders of all-time. "Dodgers" spans the two front panels of the chest in blue felt and his number "3" is sewn to the reverse. Inside the collar is tagging from "Rawlings St. Louis" and [size] "40". The tail is chain-stitched "Cox 49" in blue thread. The matching pants with large team repairs on the left knee (slightly separated at seam) are tagged in the waist "Rawlings", [size] "34", and chain-stitched "Cox 49" on a white felt plate. Both garments show impressive use with field markings and minor pine tar stains on right sleeve, back neck, and rear left leg.
