Occupational mugs were the rage from latter part of the 19th century until the home safety razor was introduced circa 1920. Each mug was kept at the barber shop, hand painted in almost a folk art style, of each person’s occupation along with the owner's name. This is an unusual one as it pictures a telegraph machine for a telegraph operation with the name “C.S.West”. The image on the ceramic mug is colorful and bold although there is a bit of loss in some of the gold decoration on the sides and trim on the rim of the mug. Overall condition is EX-MT.
