The crowning touch to the Brooklyn Dodgers legacy, this gorgeous diamond, set atop a blue stone sitting on a perfect ring of 14-karat white gold is the consummate souvenir from their one-and-only World Championship season. The tale of 1955 will forever be told and retold as the year the Boys of Summer proved their worth on the World’s stage. This stunning symbol of that achievement was presented to none other than living Major League baseball legend, Don Zimmer. Don Zimmer’s baseball career has spanned over 7 decades. He has overcome many hardships and injuries early in his career to be able to boast having shook hands with Babe Ruth, and having played alongside Jackie Robinson on arguably the most important single squad in the history of baseball. He was a part of the original New York Mets team in 1962 under Casey Stengel, going on to manage the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs, and he now resides on the all-important New York Yankees bench, having been with the club already through four championships. There is no doubt that Don Zimmer has seen and experienced more significant events than any living person in baseball. It is with this regard, that we offer perhaps the most important prize to ever come out of the 1955 baseball season. Top oval is defined by the raised text on the perimeter: “Brooklyn, World Champions.” Right shank is “First, 1955” in raised lettering with the Dodgers blue team logo enameled onto a globe. Opposite shank is “Don Zimmer” enameled onto a baseball adorned with red laces. Brooklyn “B” logo below and crossed bats design behind. Shining gem is the pride and joy to any Brooklyn Dodger baseball collection, and has been lovingly preserved in EX-MT condition. Size 11. In its original Dieges & Clust “1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Champions” navy blue box (EX-MT), it gets no better.
