One of the finest, most visually appealing and unique team signed baseballs yet from this squad of champions. The Babe Ruth signature on the sweet spot is large and bold, grading “8” out of a possible 10. In addition, the Iron Horse, Lou Gehrig has signed on two different panels. 17 black fountain pen signatures in total including Lazzeri, Dickey, Combs, etc. were obtained all at once in 1930, except for Meusel, Chapman, Cochrane (A’s HOFer) & Durocher (all done in the same - darker ink). The presence of Durocher’s signature is truly notable, since he was traded to Cincinnati before the start of the season along with Meusel. It is rumored that Durocher was stealing money and property from his Yankee teammates, for which Babe Ruth once physically beat him. This could have been one of the reasons why he was traded to the Reds. Signatures are mostly 8/10. OAL (Barnard) baseball is near white and EX-MT.
