Ted Williams Senior Yearbook 1937 Hoover High School, San Diego, CA. Ted Williams graduated in the February Class and appears in that Senior section with a GREAT, sharp, posed individual head photo sporting a beaming smile. His activity list says only one thing: BASEBALL. This is his only appearance in the book as he was a midyear graduate and thus did not appear on that year's baseball team. This is a rather small book (only 76 pages) and is quite difficult to come by. Those who own it know that Ted's first "published" head photo appears between the covers. This particular copy is in very good to excellent condition with no major defects and ranks in the top 10% of all surviving copies I have encountered. There is no water damage, no cutouts and no missing pages. The cover, while showing some wear and a slightly-frayed bottom spine edge, is in good shape. There are three specific, albeit minor, defects, none of which detracts from the overall desirability of the book, nor Ted's photo. The bottom right hand corner of the cover and all the pages show about 1/8" of black ink, where, perhaps, someone left a fountain pen touching at that corner. There is mild foxing on several pages, and near the back of the book about 7 pages have the most minor cuts at the bottom. Absolutely no attempts have been made to correct or improve these minor issues. After 62 years, Ted remains the most recent player to have hit over .400 and is considered by many to be the greatest overall hitter the game of baseball has ever seen.
